National Security
National Security is the most important role that the constitution tasks the Federal Government. National Security ranges from our military members serving overseas to the emergency services that respond to our needs at home. The funding and legislation congress provides for these services are a matter of life and death. It is also a matter of National Security to defend our borders from hostile threats. It is my belief that enacting legislation which would strengthen border security will provide for a much safer nation, economically.
But in order for these services we take for granted to be provided we need a congress and representatives which are willing to provide these programs with the funding that they need when they need it, not ten months later.
1) I will vote for any fiscally responsible bill that will provide our fighting men and women with the tools they need to achieve victory in any conflict
2) I will fight for the completion of the fence with Mexico, in order to control the stream of illegal immigration flowing from there
3) I will encourage open discussion with Canada and other nations about increasing control of the flow of undocumented peoples across our borders
4) Legislation which irresponsibly further ties the hands of our law enforcement and intelligence agencies will receive a consistent NO vote from me on the house floor
5) Any piece of legislation, Democrat or Republican, which helps increase the flow of information by our national intelligence agencies so that they can react in a timely manner to any threat, will receive my support
6) We also need to break our dependency on foreign oil, instead taking an all options are available approach to achieving energy independence
National Security and the preservation of our great nation are paramount to achieving and continuing the American dream for generations to come. Instead of playing politics with our national security and law enforcement personnel, I will fight to break the constant chain of earmarks and back room deals which water down military spending deals. My 21 years of experience in the Air Force has taught me what National Security means; I plan to employ that knowledge when voting for a National Security related bill.
